<p>David will be starting some new sculpting and drawing classes in September. Classes will range from learning how to sculpt to mouldmaking and drawing the figure. Also, various media will be explored such as sculpting and casting in cement for garden/outdoor sculptures and cold-cast bronze.</p>
<p>There will be two semesters : Semester 1: Sept- Nov  &amp;  Semester 2:  Jan - Mar . During  the summer short course will also be offered.</p>
<h3><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Semester 1:</span></strong></h3>
<p><span style="color: #800000;"><strong>Sculpture 101</strong></span><strong> :</strong> This is an introduction to traditional sculpting techniques using clay focussing on the anotomy of the human figure. Projects would include: sculpting a relief face; hand;small head</p>
<p>Classes start on : September 14th - November 23rd           ( no class on November 2nd )<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>Time :  10am - 1pm  10 week course  ( Tuesdays)        Cost: $350 ( includes materials fee) plus HST</p>
<p><span style="color: #333399;">Classes will be limited to 8 students ( students need to bring own modelling tools)</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Sculpture 201:</span></strong><strong> </strong>This course is designed for students with previous sculpting experience who want to focus more on human anatomy and sculpt the human form using both traditional and expressive techniques. Some life studies will involve the use of a model.Projects would include creating a standing/seated figure (approx 12&#8243;- 14&#8243; high)</p>
<p>Classes start on : September 14th - November 23rd           ( no class on November 2nd)</p>
<p>Time : 2pm - 5pm      10 week course  ( Tuesdays )        Cost: $350 ( includes materials fee) plus HST</p>
<p><span style="color: #333399;">Classes limited to 8 students ( students need to bring own modelling tools)</span></p>
<h3><span style="color: #800000;">Semester 2</span>:</h3>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Drawing 101:</span></strong> This course is designed as an introduction to drawing from a sculptural perspective. Areas covered : Single point and two point perspective;drawing 3-D forms using various techniques, shading &amp; tonal values. A life model will be used for some of the sessions.</p>
<p>Classes start on : Jan 18th - March 29th     (no class on Feb 22nd)</p>
<p>Time 10am - 1pm    10 week course ( Tuesdays )      Cost $350 ( includes model fee)  plus HST</p>
<p><span style="color: #333399;">Classes limited to 8 students ( students need to bring own drawing equipment)</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Sculpture 301 :</span></strong> This course will focus on sculpting a 3/4 size head in clay. Anatomical studies will be made in 2D and 3D, and then students will create a head using a life model.</p>
<p>Classes start on: Jan 18th - March 29th   ( no class Feb 22nd)</p>

<p><span style="color: #800000;">All day option: For students who would like to take both Sculpture or Drawing 101 and Sculpture 201 or 301 together the course fee would be discounted to : $600 for the 10 week session ( plus HST)</span></p>
<p><strong>All classes will be taught at The Sculpture Studio at 211 Harbour Road (former home of the Blue Whale Project)</strong></p>

David has now completed the  moulding and casting each of the 31 ribs of an 85 foot Blue Whale. Also, David sculpted the replica of the Blue Whale skull. The complete skelton is now on public display at the Beaty Diversity Museum on the campus of the University of British Columbia.
